People ask us whether an Aromify diffuser is the same kind of machine as the premium brands, and if so, why ours cost less. Here are the published prices and specifications of AromaTech, Scentiment, Pura and Aera beside the Aromify unit in the same tier, matched by stated coverage and use. One more brand belongs here, a well-known luxury scenting company whose diffusers are named after painters; we include its figures but leave its name out and call it the painters' brand. Aromify is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand named or described here. Our oils are original formulations inspired by well-known scent profiles. See our brand disclaimer.
The short answer
Across the field these are the same type of machine: waterless, heatless cold-air atomizers that turn fragrance oil into a dry mist, controlled from an app with intensity settings and schedules, with HVAC connection on the larger units. Matched by coverage, the Aromify unit is the lowest-priced option in every group above 1,200 square feet: the painters' brand lists at four to five times our price, AromaTech's large unit at four times, and Scentiment closest to us. Below that line Scentiment's Air 2 and Pura's Home Plus undercut our Wireless Starter Kit, and several sale prices and Pura's vial units come in under our Smart Plug-In II and Portable Studio. On refills, Aromify bottled oil is among the cheapest per milliliter; Pura and Aera sell sealed vials and capsules, priced per unit, so we list them separately.
How we compared
Every competitor figure was read from the brand's own US product pages on October 3, 2026: the sale and regular price listed that day, plus coverage, reservoir, power and control details. Ours come from our product pages. Where a listing gives no figure the table says "Not published"; we tested none of these machines. One disclosure: we sell one of the brands here, so read this as a price sheet from a seller, not an independent review.

Read down any group and the pattern holds: the same type of machine at the same scale. The differences run both ways. Our Grand Luxe and Tower carry 800 mL reservoirs where every rival tops out at 500; our kit runs on a battery where the 1,000 to 1,200 square foot units from AromaTech, Scentiment and the painters' brand need an outlet. On noise, only Scentiment publishes a figure (under 38 dB on its plug-in); everyone else, including us, says silent or quiet. Every Aromify diffuser ships with oil in the box; AromaTech lists oil as not included on all four of its units, and so does the painters' brand on its three largest.
Refills: bottled oil by size
| Bottle | Aromify | Scentiment | AromaTech | The painters' brand |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 to 120 mL | $29.99 for Santal 100 mL | $49.99 for 120 mL; some scents from $29.99 | $129 for 120 mL | $109.95 for 120 mL |
| 200 mL | $49.99 for most scents | No 200 mL size; 50 mL is $39.99 | No 200 mL size; 60 mL is $69 to $89 | $159.95 |
| 500 mL | $79.99 for most scents | $99.99 for most scents; $69.99 to $109.99 across the range | $289 | $229.00 |
Per milliliter at the 500 mL size: about 16 cents for Aromify, 14 to 22 cents for Scentiment, 58 cents for AromaTech and 46 cents for the painters' brand. Pura and Aera work differently: a Pura vial lists at about $14 to $21, less on subscription, and lasts up to 30 days at 6 to 8 hours a day in the Home Mini per Pura; an Aera capsule is $60 to $70 and lasts about 60 days at mid strength for 10 hours a day per Aera. Oil is the recurring cost, so these numbers matter more over a year than the machine price.
Where the other brands have the edge
A comparison that only lists our wins is not worth your time, so here is the other side.
- Wi-Fi. Scentiment lists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on every unit, which means control from anywhere; Pura and Aera list app scheduling. Aromify is Bluetooth and buttons only, in range of the unit.
- Published figures we do not match. Scentiment publishes a noise level (under 38 dB), battery life (up to 25 hours on the Mini 2 LE) and a one-year hardware warranty; Pura publishes 12 to 15 hours for the Pura Car. We publish none of those for our units, only a 30-day return window.
- Cheaper units in the smaller groups. Scentiment's Air 2 and Pura's Home Plus list below our Wireless Starter Kit, and the Scentiment Plug-In, the painters' brand's plug-in and portable, and Pura's two home units all list below our Smart Plug-In II or Portable Studio.
- Cheapest oil per milliliter. Scentiment's lowest-priced 500 mL bottles come in under ours; most of its range sits above.
- No refilling at all. Pura's vials and Aera's capsules snap in sealed, with no bottle to pour.
- Reservoirs in the middle tier. Scentiment's Pro 2 matches our Nova Luxe at 200 mL; the painters' brand carries 500 mL there.
The practical version
Measure the connected open area you want scented, pick the tier at or above it, and compare that one group rather than the brands as a whole. If you want the lowest price for the coverage, the Aromify unit wins every group above 1,200 square feet; below that, Scentiment and Pura have cheaper units and the table shows where. If you want Wi-Fi, Scentiment is the one to weigh against us. The best Aromify diffuser for your space walks each of our picks with one honest con apiece, the coverage guide explains how to read these ratings against a real floor plan, and the scent quiz sorts out which oil to run. Everything here is rechecked quarterly and dated; every brand's product pages show today's numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which premium scent diffuser brands use the same technology as Aromify?
AromaTech, Scentiment and the larger luxury brands use waterless, heatless cold-air atomization of fragrance oil, the same method every Aromify diffuser uses. Pura and Aera also diffuse without water or heat, but from sealed vials and capsules rather than a refillable oil reservoir.
Which Aromify diffuser compares to a 1,000 to 1,200 square foot premium diffuser?
The Wireless Starter Kit. It is rated for 1,200 square feet, runs on a rechargeable battery or its cord, and pairs with the Aromify Bluetooth app. The Nova Luxe is the step up at 2,500 square feet and adds an HVAC option.
Do Aromify diffusers have Wi-Fi?
No. Aromify diffusers are controlled from the buttons on the unit or over Bluetooth from the Aromify app while you are in range. Some competing brands list Wi-Fi control that works away from home; if that matters to you, it is a real difference.
Which Aromify diffusers connect to HVAC?
The Grand Luxe, rated for up to 4,500 square feet, and the Nova Luxe, rated for up to 2,500. Both also run as standalone units. The Tower covers up to 3,500 square feet standing in the room with no duct connection.
